Oh, isn't it divine?? I saw this amazing dress when Lauren posted a preview of her always wonderful dresses. I was eagrly awaiting for her to list it so I could take a better view. Knowing that I probably couldn't afford it, my hopes weren't high, but I missed that boat - the dress was listed and sold within the 5 hours I had to sleep last night. Blah. Such a beauty. 1940's. Gray. Amazing neckline. And you know what sucks the most - it's my size.

Shop Update and A Congrats To ME!

Unfortunatly with all of my papers for university, the shop needs to go on the back burner for a couple of weeks, but I'm trying to make the best of it. Even though this has been a very good day for me because I've reached 50 sales!! And after doing that earlier today, someone went and bought another (amazing) item - so it's 51 now!! I can't even express how excited I am. I mean, 50 isn't a huge number, but it has been a goal for me. I still remember how it felt to open my shop and how amazed I was with my first sale and I couldn't even think as far as 50. So it's amazing and I really want to thank everyone's that's been supportive. This shop and vintage in general is a something I'm very passionate about and I'm so happy to see people are pleased with my vision of things.

A View for Inspiration

I was so inspired by these amazing landscape creations of Iceland by Tom Edwards that the lovely Adore Vintage (one of my absolutely favorite blogs) posted a while back that I had to share them as well. I'm always drawn to the kind of sketchy and layer-y kind of art, so this is right where I feel at home.

Giveaway Winner

Hey everyone. I'm sorry to be so M.I.A these days, if you're following my blog regularly you know I'm doing a lot of papers right now, trying to finish my degree. Also it was my birthday weekend so I had quite the busy few days doing this and that. It was fun.

Now, I want to thank everyone that participated in this giveaway, for the lovely birthday wishes and for your interesting choices, it's nice to know that are a lot of things in my shop that you like. Also I really enjoyed going through everyone's blogs and seeing where they were from. And now to our lucky winner:

Drum roll please......... our winner is BrianneLee!
Congrats to Brianne and good luck to everyone next time.

I can't saw I want this because A) It's an XS, so I couldn't fit into that in my dreams B) I don't know, it's not really my style to wear really short shorts and have my stomach out there for everyone to see and poke (fun of). However, it is probably the cutest romber/playsuit I've ever seen and it's quite the perfect thing to wear in this horrible heat, also it's 1940s, and we (i.e I) love the 1940 don't we? so I like it ALOT.

Don't forget about my little giveaway going on - open worldwide until June 26th.

Giveaway Time

In honor of my birthday this upcoming Friday (honorable 25... geez) I'll try to make this week as celebratory as possible, especially due to the fact that this year I don't feel as festive as I'd like. Making you happy will make me happy and so - let's kick off the week with a cute little giveaway!

The giveaway pack includes:
- a small vintage brooch taken from my own private collection - it's made out of copper and shell in a leaf shape with 5 diamond-like crystals (1.4in /3.5cm long).
- 6 vintage buttons in all kinds of shapes and sizes.
- A vintage set of 3 white napkins with a different embroidered flower on one of their corners and an embroidered frame.

What do you need to do you ask? Very simple. Take a visit to my shop and see what strikes your fancy, come back here and leave a comment saying what that is and leave your email address so I can contact you!

The winner will be announced on Saturday, June 26th. GOOD LUCK!

I can't sew (nor spell apparently because I wrote saw before fixing it, thanks Yaeli). Instead of whining about why I wasn't a teenager in the 50s and so I wouldn't have only gotten to wear the items I so covet but also would have learned how to sew them, I can only hope to pick up sewing one day. I deeply admire the lovely Casey from Casey's Elegant Musings for sewing clothes from old patterns. Besides being so gorgeous she also has a wonderful eye for both choosing great patterns and sewing great items:

So even though I can't saw and I don't know anyone who would be kind enough, talented enough and cheap enough to make clothes for me, I'm occupying myself with pattern wish-listing. Here are some really pretty patterns which items I would love to wear one day (clicking on the images leads you to its source):

Allen Company Inc. is probably one of my favorite Etsy vintage shops. Kristina is both a very lovely person (from what I gathered from our little interactions) and a very talented lady when it comes to finding beautiful vintage pieces. Many of her items are on my wish-list whether or not they would actually fit me, like these pretty pretty (did I mention) PRETTY booties - if I were only half a size smaller:

It Never Ends..?

Granted, this is my last year at university (for this degree at least) and it is suppose to be the last time I deal with exams and papers, but it just seems so never ending. Even though in Israel (in oppose to most countries) we get "a break" (=army) between school and collage, when you think about it - at my age (25 in a week and a half..) I've spent most of my life studying! That's a little rediculous. And even though I was never such a rebel and rather enjoy learning new things I need a break! I think this illustration from the 1940s perfectly describes my feelings at the moment.

I've been having a little lack of inspiration concerning my blog posts. There are so many blogs I admire and I aspire to have a blog that others admire. I think that in all this time of blogging I have yet to understand what this blog is about for me. It's obviously about vintage, there is some music (like in this post), there's some personal stuff, and art - there's arts of all kinds. But something isn't clicking yet. And I feel an urge to understand where it clicks. I'm also entering my paper and exams month which is going to be hectic - I guess that's distracting me as well. hmmm.
Anyway, I am (or was) an avid Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, VAST is a one man band I got to know from ANGEL, Buffy's spinoff (and vampire lover). I have'nt listened to this song in ages and I think it's really beautiful and a little painful, I'm not sure why, it's makes me a little sad I guess.

Some pictures I took recently around my parents house. Everything's in bloom and there are kitten everywhere (evil kittens but kittens none the less). Thought I'd share some last spring images cause it seems to be getting hotter and hotter and you know what that means...
